Homeless rates of the states in the U.S from 2012-2013
There are constantly changes going on with the homeless rates. Though what research I have gathered is pretty shocking. According to www.thinkprocess.org the five top states are "New York, Massachusetts, California, Florida, and Texas". These five are the ones that make the homeless population so high. The states have the most population of homeless then all the other states.Basically the roots of homelessness are coming from these states and if we start to fix the homeless problems, we start there first. As of 2013 New York,Massachusetts, California, Florida, and Texas were known as the states that contributed the most homeless people to the population. The reason why these states have the highest amounts of homeless people is because they might have the a high poverty rate or unemployed people. New York had an increase of unemployed people go up by "3.4%". While New York increased, Missouri decreased by "18.5%". That helped Missouri not to become a state that had a large population of homeless people. the states with he lowest were Mississippi, Indiana, Kansas (14). As the years past by, by the next year the rates had changes. Studies from National Alliance to End Homelessness state that 31 states had seen an decrease in their numbers homeless the next year. Then the other 20 states had saw an increase instead of their number of homeless people. All of this happened in the year 2013. There might have been a slight change but the situation could still change.
This image below shows the percentages each state either lost or gained of homeless people.

As you can tell there is a difference in the rates which is pretty amazing.
The Individual Aspects of Homelessness in the U.S
Everyone knows that there are different types of homelessness. There are families homeless, individuals, children, and veterans. When rates andnumbers are documented they are put into their own number. This helps people understand which category is most populated. I have an image of the homeless numbers being compared in the year 2013.During this time The count of homeless people was "610,042" in the united states.

The highest number reported is all the homeless inside of shelters. This is great news because these people were taken off of the streets and then put inside of a shelter for a home. With most homeless in shelters then is a tremendous change of the individual amount of people on the streets. The second highest number is the individuals. If it wasn't for the shelters then this number and the sheltered number would be combined! Next is the people that have families The list goes on and on. If we can seek out a way to help minimize these numbers even more then that would be great as well.
Homeless Rates in America from 2013-2014
In 2014, there were "578,424 homeless" people counted on the streets. That gives the U.S a difference of "31,618 homeless people from 2013". More homeless were in shelters than on the streets and more supplies given out. While "34 states saw decreases" in their number of homeless people, 17 states saw an increase. Compared to the previous years before, the number of states that saw a decrease (31) and states that saw a increase (21) there has been improvement. Not only that ,but 40 states had an decrease on the number of people on the streets! Slowly but surely America is coming together and trying to help make a difference.
Here are the overall changes of homeless people in each state.

Just like the years before there are comparisons between the different aspects of homelessness. Since 2013 there have been changes in the number of each aspect.
Here are the totals of each aspect from 2013-2014
The highest population in 2013 was the number of people sheltered in shelters. That population increased by 6,803 more homeless people living inside of shelters! That is an extraordinary amount of people. The second highest population in 2013, was the in number of individuals living out on the streets. This total went down by 25,682 in 2014. The reason that there were less people as individuals is ,because they were probably put inside of homeless shelters. Then the third highest population, which is people who are living as a homeless family, decreased by 5,936 people. The rest of the aspects will be compared below.
